General Policy It is the policy of the Care Veterinary Group that all charges owing for preventive health care and/or treatment of any patient should be settled on the completion of the visit. Where a patient is hospitalised for medical or emergency treatment and/or surgery then any outstanding fees are required to be settled prior to discharge.
Estimate of fees When ever possible you will be provided with an estimate of the costs that may be incurred. It is however important to realize that for hospitalised and surgical patients in particular the exact response to, and duration of any treatments or procedures undertaken, may need to be revised from time to time. For this reason it is imperative that we are provided with current contact phone numbers. If for any reason we are unable to contact you, any treatment deemed to be essential will be done at your expense without further consent.
Pet Insurance The Care Veterinary Group strongly recommends that you take out a pet insurance policy for your animals. This is a cost effective way to take the stress out of paying for unexpected veterinary costs. It allows you to provide the best possible treatment options in any given situation, including the referral to veterinary specialists. A new policy can be taken out at any time. Please ask any of our staff for assistance.
Veterinary Payment Plan If you are concerned about meeting the costs of any treatment up front we are able to offer you a ‘take home lay-by’ plan supplied by an external finance provider which allows you pay a deposit of 33% of the total cost, then to make repayments over an agreed repayment term (6-12 months). This plan can be approved ‘in house’ whilst you wait, prior to signing any treatment consent forms. A small amount will then be debited from your account or credit card on a fortnightly or monthly basis until your account has been settled.
Account Payment The Care Veterinary Group accepts payments by Cash, Credit Card, Eftpos, or Cheque. We reserve the right to hold pets until the account is paid in full. Pets will be held for a maximum of seven days and a boarding fee of $20 per day will be added to the account.
Please Note If your pet is admitted with a tick and/or flea infestation, we reserve the right to administer appropriate treatment at your cost. This is to ensure that our hospital remains parasite free and that these parasites are not passed on to other patients.
